'TAKE RISKS' CAP

CAFÉ LEATHER X MANU CAMPA BURGUNDY

36,00

The ”Take Risks” cap is one of the items that belong to our Pioneers capsule, the result of our collaboration with the artist Manu Campa. Through this capsule, we pay tribute to great pioneers of motor history who dared to do what no one had done until then.

“Take Risks” makes reference to the history of Jean-Claude Rude.  The professional cyclist Jean-Claude Rude set out to break the speed record by bicycle, with the help of the pilot Henri Pescarolo and a Porsche 935 Turbo adapted from the Martini team. He had to overcome Dr. Allan Abbott, who got 223 km/h in 1973.
After all the required preparation, in 1978 Jean-Claude tried, unsuccessfully, because he lost control of his bicycle and slid for hundreds of meters along the raceway edge until he lost speed. Although Rude did not suffer any injuries after his fall, he could never break the record, since he died in an accident a year later.

We only use the finest quality leather handcrafted in Spain in a traditional way. Our leather is 100% vegetable tanned and undergoes over 50 separate processes taking at least 35 days. Over the past 150 years very little has changed in their secret formula. Tree bark extracts from Acacia and Quebracho, water, beeswax, marine oil, and naturally occurring pigments are combined.

Each hide is unique and tonal variations as well as small marks are part of the inherent nature of the material. These apparent imperfections should be seen as an exclusive quality of each product. Leather will create a beautiful patina, darkening gradually over time. Scuffs can be reduced with gentle rubbing to warm the oils in the leather.

1. Clean the leather with a damp cotton cloth. If possible, use destilled water.

2. Apply a small amount of natural leather conditioner onto a clean cloth and work it in to the leather. Repeat the process until leather feels hydrated.

3. Using a brush or cotton cloth, remove the extra wax/cream and buff until their original luster is restored.

With a cotton swab impregnated with alcohol, we rub very gently on the stain. It is necessary to do it gently to avoid that the flower can be lifted from the leather. The area of the stain will appear dark from the alcohol used, but as soon as it drys, the stain should have appeared almost entirely.

A slightly damp cloth with a few drops of neutral soap is one of the most effective ways to clean the 100% vegetable tanning leather. It is not necessary that the leather is dirty to carry out this process and the cloth should not be wet, just a little bit damp. This type of cleaning must be done according to the use that is given to the object in question. Twice a year would be recommendable except in the case of our wallet was exposed to the sun regularly. In that case, the convenient thing would be between 3 or 4 times.

In addition to the light cloth technique, a conditioner can be used. Something really important to deal with the appearance of cracks. Also, in certain types of leather, we can use a brush. This brush must be specific because, if it is not, we could cause scratches on the wallet.
